LOTHARIO
Lothario is the visceral, razor-edged solo project of Melbourne’s Annaliese Redlich, who creates feminist punk anthems for the bored and reckless. Conceived in her bedroom in November 2022, Lothario’s music is a raw outpouring of late-night hedonism, encapsulating themes of sex, conflict, and rebellion. Redlich’s songwriting is a cathartic exploration of betrayal, booze, boyfriends, and bullies – offering a momentary escape from self-doubt and vulnerability.
Her music challenges listeners to confront their demons and seize their power. Lothario’s inception was marked by a lo-fi immediacy, with Redlich recording all the instruments, except drums, in her living room. The result is an urgent, desperate menace that resonates through her lyrics and soundscapes. The songs are love letters to losers, filled with an unfiltered intensity that invites listeners to rage until daybreak.
