About Highcoast

Highcoast is a surfrock band formed in Melbourne, stranded in Hamburg in 2016. Why would a band from northern Germany start playing sun-soaked surfrock in a city with more than 200 rain days a year and the next surfable beach being thousands of kilometers south? The reason for that lays in the fact that most of the songs were written in the world’s capital of hot surf music: Australia, during various attempts of escapism. Now highcoast is carrying the ideals of Californian and Australian surf culture with a modern approach into their own music. Featuring their diverse signature mix of laid-back sweetness and energetic-pumping roughness, highcoast prove their vision of unique hemisphere-defying surf rock has evolved into a distinct and recognisable modern-yet-oldschool sound. The successful musical interpretation of dreamy summer times, booze-fuelled beach party nights with a hearty portion of nostalgia, that carries the good vibes up on every stage.
